For a special dinner, Sam Kendall's steakhouse sits in our own breezeway: opened in 2017, and the easiest reservation you'll ever walk to. For chef-driven plates, Black Creek Bistro does Pee Dee farm-to-fork fine dining; The Blind Pig Pub does Southern pub fare. For more still, Marcella's does classic Italian beside Centennial Park, Bow Thai has served authentic Thai downtown since 2009, and The Velvet Rail pairs a bistro with a handmade-ice-cream creamery.
Mornings start a few doors down at The Rooster 136 (136 East Carolina Avenue, the same block as the hotel): crepes, omelets, Belgian waffles, and proper breakfast sandwiches, with coffee to match. A couple of blocks west, Crema Coffee Bar pours espresso and lays out yogurt parfaits and sandwiches from early. Evenings can end at Wild Heart Brewing Company or in the tasting room at Vintage Craft Beer & Wine on Mantissa Row, or, of course, upstairs on The Rooftop.
